Entries open for inaugural AASA Nationals
Entries are officially open for the inaugural AASA Short Track Nationals event which takes place at Sydney Motorsport Park on the Druitt layout under lights, on the ANZAC Day weekend, April 25-26.
The headline act at the maiden round will be TFH Hire Legend Cars Australia, with drivers competing for the honour of becoming the Short Track Nationals Champion.
Over 40 cars are expected, and as a result the series will be running a speedway inspired format, with random draw heats, Top 8 Dash, B Main and a winner-takes-all A Main final.
The winner has the privilege of running the green and gold #1 on the side of there car for the next 12 months.
Although there will be a total of 13 Legend Cars races across the one and a half days of action, the event is bolstered by some fantastic categories.
The Legend Cars will be joined by the Yokohama Tyres AASA Australian Formula Ford Championship for its third round.
Rounds 1 and 2 at the Shell V-Power Motorsport Park produced some of the best racing the national series has seen in recent years.
Formula RX8 was also well fought at the South Australian venue, the Druitt layout is well suited to the lightweight, rear-wheel-drive cars.
Concluding the fantastic undercard is Stock Cars Australia, a series that is made up of legitimate NASCARs and AUSCARs from back in the day.
The category is also open to other racing cars including TA2 Muscle Cars and high horsepowered sedans.
The grid for the Legend Cars Australia Short Track Nationals is already taking shape with several speedway stars announcing that they will make a cameo appearance at Sydney Motorsport Park.
The Druitt Circuit was utilised by the Supercars Championship support categories in its opening round and proved very popular amongst competitors as it kept the field closely bunched together.
As announced previously, all races will be live streamed through Clay Per View.
