Letter from the CEO

2025... Wow! What a year that was!

Firstly, let me thank you all for your continued support and participation with AASA over the past 12 months. It is you that makes AASA the great organisation that it has become, and it continues to grow because of your support and belief in what we do.

From our very successful Hi-Tec Oils Super Series to the ARB Offroad Championship, all of our Tarmac Rally Championships, to the Australian Lawn Mower Racing Nationals, the Drift Matsuri events—particularly at Queensland Raceway—through to the many successful karting events like GKC and SEK, we really have seen a huge variety of events conducted. Our presence in the Speedway community continue to grow, and our increased reach into states like the Northern Territory, South Australia, and Western Australia is a testament to our ongoing philosophy of providing a simple but safe event platform. We will venture into Tasmania for the first time with the AORRA next year, and that is really exciting.

As I start my ninth year here at AASA, I can honestly say I don't think I've had this much excitement about going into a new year as I have looking toward 2026.

With calendars now set for all of our sanctioned events going into the new year, the work really begins for us. I'd like to thank those tracks, clubs, and promoters for continuing their support for AASA and choosing to sanction their racing calendars with AASA.

Our team has seen some real stability this year with one significant addition: Our Competition and Commercial Director, Marcos Ambrose. Marcos continues our long-held tradition of employing motorsport people into AASA. In a newly created position, Marcos has set to work straight away in developing more opportunities for the grassroots racer as well as the seasoned individual.

Whilst Marcos is focused on our circuit racing programs, he will also get involved in our constantly growing Speedway market, and I'm sure we will get him to other events during the year…

…off road comes to mind, as does Tarmac Rally.

In mentioning Marcos, I really want to acknowledge the efforts of our long-standing AASA staff in our offices and our growing group of motorsport specialist contractors. It's been a privilege to lead this team so far.

I also want to acknowledge our loyal group of officials and volunteers that have supported us and continue to support the different events that AASA is involved in. Thank you for your dedication and loyalty, our events would not be possible without you.

I would also like to mention and thank George Gambino from Hi-Tec Oils. George has become a great friend of AASA, not only as a sponsor/partner but a real believer in what we do. George was involved at the very start of putting together the Super Series concept, and quite proudly, George, in 2026, with Hi-Tec Oils Motorsport, will take the Series to new levels. It is a perfect fit. George is a part of our AASA family and will continue to be so for many years.

Alongside our growing national events, there are many, many small grassroots organisations who work with us. Not just competition events but car shows, driver training organisations and more. I would like to say a warm and heartfelt thank you to all of you as well, we love working with entry level events that provide affordable access to motorsport, watching the journeys of drivers young and old as we welcome them in to take their first steps in our world.

For 2026, AASA personnel will be at more events than ever before, and we will be announcing some exciting new innovations that we have been developing, one of which will be focused on our officials. This will be a significant step for AASA.

As we break for 2025, on behalf of myself and the entire AASA team, I would like to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a safe and Happy New Year. We look forward to seeing you all in 2026.
