AASA Expands Team

During the summer break the Australian Auto-Sport Alliance (AASA) has recruited several experienced motorsport identities to bolster the AASA events and media team.

Both Graham Sattler and Lisa Totani have extensive CVs in motorsport management and will have key roles within the AASA Events team in 2026.

Sattler has been appointed as the AASA Short Track Nationals Series and Special Events Manager, while also providing operations support at all Hi-Tec Oils Super Series rounds.

As well as this, he will be on hand to assist Adam Conway, series coordinator for the Victorian Motor Racing Championship (VMRC) and various other State based AASA events.

Sattler has an extensive CV and is highly credentialled for the role, having worked in the motorsport industry for decades, for teams, sanctioning bodies and race categories.

Graham Sattler – AASA Events

“It’s great to be joining the AASA team at such an exciting time,” Sattler said. “The 2026 season is offering Australian motorsport a new landscape and new opportunities to be part of AASA's new direction.

“I’m excited to be joining the AASA as part of the Events Operations team and to be part of the new Short Track Nationals. The series is already well supported, and we look forward to delivering a successful maiden season.

“The new short track concept gives our members the chance to run at some of our usual stops, but racing over the short track layouts. More laps, more racing and more excitement.”

Lisa Totani – AASA Events

“I am excited to be joining the dedicated and passionate AASA team who have a genuine belief in fostering grassroots competition and a budget-conscious motorsport community,” she said.

“I have been impressed with Marcos’ vision and his perspective on the opportunity to reinvent motorsport events in a way that mirrors the success of other mainstream sports while building on the fundamentals of well-run, and structured events.

“I am also looking forward to again working alongside Graham Sattler, whose extensive experience across all facets of motorsport will be invaluable to help deliver the AASA Short-Track Nationals – a championship that provides unprecedented accessibility and choice for more competitors on circuits that deliver enjoyable racing.”

Dan McCarthy – AASA Media

“I’m delighted to be joining the AASA team as it continues to go from strength-to-strength,” he said. “It is a small but dedicated group of passionate motor racing enthusiasts.”

“The recent appointments of Graham and Lisa highlight how committed the AASA is to run the best Motorsport events possible, both of them boast a fantastic CV and I look forward to working alongside them both.

“The creation of the AASA Short-Track Nationals and AASA Endurance Championships are two of the biggest AASA highlights I am looking forward to reporting upon this year, these are just two of the big changes coming to AASA.

“The AASA, with Marcos Ambrose as its Competition and Commercial Director is certainly heading in the right direction.”

Marcos Ambrose – AASA Competition and Commercial Director

“As AASA continues to grow competitors, events and categories we also need to grow our AASA team and resources to support that and continue to deliver budget friendly, rewarding and simple products for our racing family,” he said.

“Running a motorsport business is nuanced and not easy. It takes a specialised team to bring motorsport events to life and deliver quality and affordable motorsport sanctioning products to our customers.

“We are thrilled to be able to add more depth and experience to our already talented team at AASA.

“We continue to invest in AASA’s future, the decisions we make today will carry AASA forward for years to come.

“We are adding skills and resources that until now have not been possible at AASA, but with AASA’s recent growth and vision for the future becoming reality. We are now in a position to put the ‘pedal to the metal,’ so to speak, and gear up AASA for the future.

“It is exciting times at AASA.”
