Viola Private Wealth Winton 300 entries sold out

In just four hours, all 40 of the slots for this year’s Viola Private Wealth Winton 300 grid have been filled.

The grid capacity for the 300km endurance race at Winton Motor Raceway is 40 cars, and for a second straight year all entries have sold out well within a day.

This year’s edition of the Viola Private Wealth Winton 300 takes place from August 29-31 at Winton Motor Raceway in Benalla, Victoria.

In 2025, the historic Winton 300 endurance event will be sponsored by Viola Private Wealth.

Previously, the event was sponsored by Pitcher Partners, and while the name has changed, Viola has been a long-time supporter of grassroots motorsport.

Since the 300 last year, Viola and his team have completed a management buyout of the Pitcher Wealth business in Sydney, creating a new brand synonymous with high net private wealth, in Viola Private Wealth.

The Viola Private Wealth Winton 300 is an annual 300km endurance race, which has grown to be one of the biggest enduros in the country, boasting a capacity field of cars in 2024.

In 2024 Viola raced in the Winton 300, and the Executive Chair of Viola Private Wealth explained why he has put his support behind the event again this year.

“There's a few reasons, but the big one really, is just supporting people into doing motorsport,” Viola said. “Enabling these types of events to get put on and be run, and be run really well, they are lots of fun, and people put lots of effort into them.

“There's lots of camaraderie up and down the paddock, especially whenever you've got grassroots motorsport running enduros.

“There's always drama over 300km, things that break or fall off and all that sort of stuff. You see everybody getting in and helping each other out, it's really good to see.”

The Winton 300 is one of Australia’s longest running endurance races, with the inaugural event taking place 1985.

The 300km race was originally run under production cars rules in the late 80s and early 90s.

In 2011, after a two-decade hiatus the Winton 300 was resurrected by the Australian Auto-Sport Alliance (AASA).

It now runs to very open regulations with eligible cars including Production Cars, Super TT, Production Sports, Improved Production, BMW E30s, Porsche 944s, Mazda MX5s, Hyundai Excels and Nissan Pulsars, basically everything except for Supercars and GT machines.

Once again in 2025, Viola will compete in the race with the Trackschool operation. He pointed out that the event contains not only a lot of entrants, but quality ones also.

“There were people on the waiting list trying to get on last year,” he recalled. “We had a full grid including some returning favourites, the Tran’s always do really well along with the Herring family, and other guys, like Adrian Wilson in his BMW.

“The size and the quality of the field and how cars are presented and the amount of effort people put in, it's fantastic.

“We're super proud to put our name to it, and we're super proud to be part of it and supporting people doing what they love.”
