Adelaide Burnouts delivers big field at The Bend
Burnouts at The Bend brought a large field of competitors to Dragway at The Bend on 15 August, with entrants battling across Elite, 8 Cylinder, 6 Cylinder and Young Guns competition.
In the Elite class, Peter Grmusa took the round victory in his purple XA Falcon KINGXA, scoring 484 points to narrowly defeat Ryan Pearson on 481 and Mark Johnstone on 474. The Top 10 final itself was headed by Steven Loader, ahead of Jono Kelly and Shane Damato.
The 8 Cylinder class saw Peter Thomsen take the round win in his red XD Falcon MY80XD with 464 points. Liam Stenstrom finished second on 452, just one point ahead of Jared Stone in third. Jordan Denham topped the 8 Cylinder Top 10 final.
South Australia's Scott Ronayne claimed the 6 Cylinder round victory, scoring 434 points in his red VN Commodore. Logan McDermott and Michael Brine completed the top three, while Oscar Gliessert came out on top in the class's Top 10 final.
The Young Guns competition was dominated by Kaleb Harris, who took both the round and Top 10 final victories in his VX Commodore. Brayden James McDonald finished runner-up in both contests, with Rhys Hay third.
With competitors travelling from South Australia, Victoria, New South Wales and the ACT, the event showcased another diverse field of grassroots motorsport at The Bend.
