MEGA finish to NZ Budget Enduro Championship

WOW, what a week! The Mega Motorsport season draws to a close this August with a stunning line up of every imaginable make & model of race car… From Rovers, Hondas, BMW’s and Mazdas, through to VW’s, Nissans and even a clutch of Suzuki Swifts…

A mostly fine day, with a few showers thrown in for fun made tyre choice a huge factor – some teams opting for slicks and then making unscheduled stops to change things up when the squalls drifted through.

The star of the show for the final round of the season was the Hampton Downs International Circuit, a rare configuration not usually accessible for public events. The new corners did not disappoint – a real handful for those new to the layout and always challenging, even to the experienced racers. A huge thank you to the Hampton Downs for working with Mega Motorsport to make the full circuit layout available for this event.

The mix of drivers/experience was incredible, with absolute newbies and a handful of youngsters battling it out (and holding their own) with seasoned professionals from top-tier motorsport classes – the likes of Hunter Robb, Sam Fillmore, Paul Southam, Kayne Barry, Andrew Turner, Steve Bennenbroek, Jason Mudgeway, Joel Giddy and Mike Eady. Ages ranged from 14 yrs to 75 yrs old! Quality of racing was superb – very few incidents and very clean side-by-side racing throughout the day – with a very tight finish in most of the classes and season categories.

So without further ado, here are the Official Results of the 2025 SEASON of the Kamo Parts Ltd Firecracker and MEGA PRO series 3hr & 6hr National Endurance Championship!
