Richards Top Hillston While Dunn Tops Moranbah

It was a busy month for the Off Road Racing Championships as crews across the country braved the cold to go racing. The Griffith Off Road Club held The Gap 150 in Hillston, NSW on the 4th and 5th of July. With positive engagement from the community and local businesses, the event brought the town together and dry weather promised a fast track and exciting racing.

18 competitors took to the ironically named 220 kilometre long event with competition split into 3 sections for a total of 10 competitive laps. After a full day's racing reaching speeds in excess of 180kph, on dirt, it would be the #119 of Jason Richards at the top with a total time of 2 hours and 25 minutes. 2nd place by just three minutes was #121 of Jay Mitchell. Finally, the #1004 of Brendan Hill managed to clutch third overall as well as first in class.

Heading north, Queensland’s off road crews would head to Moranbah this month for Round 5 of the 2025 ARB Mickey Thompson Queensland Championship, hosted by Mackay Off Road Racing Inc: The Moranbah Short Course. Dan Dunn and Ashton Dale #614 would claim a spectacular third consecutive victory. Read more about Dunn’s Moranbah Masterclass below.
