Round 2 of WA Superlites Association

Round 2 of the WA Superlites Association Club Championship took place on the weekend of May 16-17 at Talgomine in Western Australia.

It was a highly competitive event with competitors split into the three classes SxS Pro, SxS and Superlites.

The 13-kilometre off-road circuit proved a real challenge for competitors, it was very tight and technical in some areas, but fast and flowing in others. This proved popular with drivers.

The starting orders were determined by a one-lap prologue. The event consisted of three races, with two on Saturday and one on Sunday morning, each one was three laps in duration.

The weather was perfect over the weekend, just a light breeze minimising the likelihood of dust issues.

The racing was fierce and tight in all three classes across the course of the event.

The SxS Pro category for Can Am Maverick R and Polaris RZR Pro R machines was won by Heinrich Wessels in a Can Am.

The Superlites division is for competitors in custom motorcycle driven buggies, in that class Greg Shepherd prevailed in his Edge Barracuda.

However, the most competitive class of the weekend was SxS, open to Can Am X3s, Polaris RZR 1000s and Yamaha YXZ 1000Rs.

In the end it ended up being a Cam Am X3 1-2-3 with John Hodgson taking the spoils from Simon Butler and Chilambe Kaweme.

The WA Superlites Association has been running with the Australian Auto-Sport Alliance since 2024 and continues to grow round upon round.
