Tsukiyo Time Attack Returns to Mallala
On March 28, 2026, Time Attack returns to Mallala. Combining the high-speed drama of the one perfect lap with the nostalgic Mallala Motorsport Park, the 2026 Tsukiyo Time Attack is officially open for entries.
The enthusiasm for the event has been incredibly positive with 68 pre-registrations recorded within the first few hours, pushing several classes toward their maximum capacity. If you have been sitting on the fence, consider this your final warning... Spots are filling fast!
Whether you are piloting a daily-driven street car or a 1,500hp monster, Tsukiyo 2026 regulations align with World Time Attack Challenge (WTAC) and Aus Time Attack standards. This incredibly important detail will allow current time attack teams and driver's to transition seamlessly to the South Australian event, providing yet another opportunity to stretch the legs of some of the fastest tin tops in the country.
The familiar category lineup includes:
- Prod Sprint: The grassroots heartbeat of the event. For road-registered vehicles with factory interiors and no internal engine mods. It’s the ultimate entry-level gateway.
- Clubsprint: The next step up. Balancing street looks with sequential transmissions and specific aero dimensions.
- Open Class: The playground for serious builds. Expect to see mechanical freedom, sophisticated aero, and drivers like the legendary Dan Day (fresh off his 10th straight Legend of the Lakes win) potentially returning to reclaim the throne.
- Supercar: Dedicated to high-performance machinery (Porsche, Ferrari, R35 GTR) for owners wanting to prove their factory specs are just the starting point.
- Pro Class: The pinnacle. Pure carbon builds, fighter-jet aerodynamics, and engines designed for one single, record-breaking flyer.
While the technical side of Time Attack is rigorous, the soul of the event remains the community. We all know that if we only raced when we were guaranteed a win, the track would be a very lonely place.
Nowhere is this spirit more evident than on "The Hill". As the heartbeat of Mallala, The Hill is where memories are made. Whether you’re a kid on a parent's shoulders or an enthusiast with a cold drink, there is no better vantage point to smell the E85 and hot brakes as a tonne of carbon fibre on wheels dives into the first corner.
Expect to see South Australia’s finest sideways specialists keeping the energy electric between Time Attack sessions. In a recent community poll, a resounding 98% of participants voted for the return of drifting. The Tsukiyo team are currently in discussions with Drifting SA to integrate high-energy drift demos into the 2026 schedule.
The highlight of the 2026 Tsukiyo Time Attack will undoubtedly be as the sun dips below the horizon. Driving Mallala under lights is a visceral experience; markers vanish, and drivers must rely on technical memory and intuition.
