Where to watch the Lance East Exotics Tarmac West rally cars

Lance East Exotics Tarmac | 17-20 September 2026

From today, 70 rally cars race the clock on closed roads in and around Perth for Western Australia's premier tarmac rally, Lance East Exotics Tarmac West from 17 to 20 September.

It’s the biggest field since 2014 with rally cars ranging from classics such as 1964 Ford Anglia and 1969 Ford Falcon to Subaru WRXs and Mitsubishi Evos to powerful Porsches and electrifying Teslas.

Trackside, the noise, the power and the speed is exhilarating to witness, and it’s all free.

The best places for spectators to get a high-octane fix and satisfy the need for speed can be found in the 2026 Lance East Exotics Tarmac West Spectator Guide.

It begins with the Ceremonial Start in Forrest Place from at lunch time on Thursday, September 17, where the rally cars will be on display giving fans a chance to get close and have a really good look before they are flagged off for the start LEE Tarmac West.

From Forrest Place, competitors head to Whiteman Park where they’ll rally along four stages from 1.15pm until 4.30pm, then head to Ellenbrook for the Toyota Rally Stage for another three runs.

From 6.00pm to 8.00pm, the closed streets around Ellenbrook Central turn into a racetrack. Always a crowd favourite with a mini fun fair for kids before thousands of spectators lining the streets to watch rally drivers put on a show vying for the fastest time whilst avoiding the car-breaking kerbs.

Friday, September 18, is Leg 2 in the Perth Hills which starts at 10am in Parkervlle before moving to Mundaring Weir Road from 11.20am to 1.15pm. Watch crews work on cars as Kalamunda’s main street, Haynes Street, becomes an open-air service park from 12.45pm to 3.00pm.

Then, it’s the famous Zig Zag stages from 1.45pm to 3.15pm. Spectators information will be available from the Kalamunda Service Park.

After the day’s action and a quick polish, rally cars will be parked up and on display at the Shannons Forrest Place Show ‘n’ Shine from 6.00pm to 8.00pm on Friday, adding some horsepower to late night shopping.

Saturday is the marathon day, and this is when the competition gets serious.

For spectators, it’s a perfect excuse to take a scenic 90-minute a drive to the pretty town of Toodyay for the high-speed action and perhaps enjoy the delights of a country lunch at a café or the local watering hole.

There’ll be six stages starting at 9am and finishing at 1.30pm with 25-minute services in Toodyay at 10.50am and 1.00pm. Competitors then head to Lower Chittering and Bullsbrook for Leg 3’s final six stages.

Sunday, September 20, saving the best until last is the fan-favourite with the Tokyo Motorsports Malaga Stages in the morning from 8.30am until 11.45am – it consistently delivers, with gasps from the crowds at the screeching sideways action along the closed roads of the industrial area.

Concurrently, from 9am, is a separate rally competition equally as thrilling, the Perth City Sprint featuring exotic, historic and classic cars racing the clock around the Terrace Road car park and along Riverside Drive.

Lance East Exotic Tarmac West competitors will race the city stage three times from 1.00pm in what is always a thrilling finale and a great show for spectators. Immediately following the last stage is the podium finish and champagne spray celebrations for the top three in each of the categories.

While the rally cars are racing, motor-mania takes over Langley Park with 600 cars on display at the Celebration of Motorsport from 10am to 3pm, and entry is free, making it the perfect day out for families.

See some of most beautiful exotics and rarest supercars at midday when Lance East Exotics curated collection of automotive icons do a parade lap down Riverside Drive, think Ferrari, McLaren, Lamborghini, Maserati, Bugatti, Aston Martin and more, cars that blend luxury, heritage and performance.

Those who love chrome and guttural, thumping engines are in for a treat at the Celebration of Hot Rods & Street Machines.

Shannons Classics on the Swan adds the timeless beauty of cars of yesteryear, creating a four-wheeled festival for every kind of motoring fan.

Find entertainment and activities for the kids too with monster bus rides, helicopter rides, remote control cars entertainment, car clubs stalls, food trucks and more.

Come and watch 70 rally drivers including 16 rookies race the clock along 215 competitive kilometres of closed roads over four days.

Run by Tarmac Events WA, the rally is made possible thanks to sponsors with a special acknowledgement of title sponsor Lance East Exotics, and the 400 volunteer officials who ensure the event is run safely.
