Manning Valley Delivers an Australian Endurance Classic

The 2026 Sportsman Enduro Australian Titles at the Manning Valley Kart Track will be remembered as one of the most challenging, competitive and inspiring endurance karting events ever held in Australia.

With the circuit's capacity capped at 38 teams, every available grid position was filled months in advance, highlighting the remarkable growth of Sportsman Enduro Karting (SEK). Teams from across Australia converged on Taree for three days of endurance racing action, all chasing the coveted Australian Title in what became the largest Australian endurance karting championship ever contested.

Friday's practice sessions gave competitors the opportunity to test in both track directions, gathering valuable data and fine-tuning their karts ahead of the gruelling 14-hour endurance race. Teams worked tirelessly on chassis setup, gearing, fuel strategies and driver preparation, knowing that success in endurance racing is built long before the green flag drops.

Unfortunately, two teams were unable to take their place on the starting grid due to last-minute issues, leaving 36 teams to tackle the enormous challenge ahead. What followed was an epic contest spanning 1,115 laps and delivering a true test of endurance, teamwork and determination.

Saturday provided near-perfect racing conditions. As daylight faded and darkness settled over Manning Valley, the temperature dropped significantly, creating a fast but demanding track. Drivers had to adapt to the changing grip levels as the cool night air transformed the circuit and added another layer of complexity to the race. Through the long night hours, concentration became just as important as speed, with every lap critical to the final result.

Then came Sunday.

As the race entered its final stages, rain swept across the circuit, creating a dramatic finish to an already unforgettable event. The changing conditions tested every team in the field. Drivers were forced to adjust their approach, team managers recalculated strategies and mechanics kept a close eye on kart performance as the wet conditions challenged even the most experienced competitors.

It was a race that truly had everything.

Yet beyond the statistics, weather and competition, what makes Sportsman Enduro Karting special is the people.

The Australian Titles showcased the unique family atmosphere that has become synonymous with SEK. Teams of between two and five members took to the circuit, representing all ages and experience levels. Among the field were two all-female teams, demonstrating the growing participation of women in endurance karting. Fathers raced alongside sons and daughters. Husbands and wives shared driving duties. Friends came together to compete, laugh and create memories that will last a lifetime.

For many competitors, the weekend was about much more than trophies and podium finishes. It was about spending time together, overcoming challenges as a team and being part of a community that supports one another both on and off the track.

SEK's family oriented culture was evident throughout the paddock. New teams were welcomed with open arms, and experienced competitors freely shared their knowledge and experience. From driver coaching and kart setup advice to maintenance support and race strategy guidance, the spirit of helping others succeed was on display from the first practice lap to the final chequered flag.

This commitment to developing competitors has been a cornerstone of the club's success. Whether a team arrives with years of racing experience or enters its first endurance event, SEK prides itself on providing the support needed to learn, improve and enjoy the sport.

As the chequered flag finally fell after 14 demanding hours, there was a sense of achievement throughout the paddock. Teams had conquered changing weather, cold night conditions, fatigue, mechanical challenges and the relentless pressure that only endurance racing can deliver.

The Manning Valley Kart Track provided the perfect stage for the event, while the competitors produced a race that exemplified everything great about endurance karting: determination, teamwork, resilience and sportsmanship.

With a record field, day and night racing, challenging weather conditions and an incredible community spirit, the 2026 Sportsman Enduro Australian Titles have set a new benchmark for endurance karting in Australia.

More than just a race, the event was a celebration of family, friendship and the passion that drives grassroots motorsport.

For those who were there, it was a weekend they will never forget. For those who weren't, one thing is certain: Sportsman Enduro Karting continues to go from strength to strength, and the future of endurance karting in Australia has never looked brighter.
